This screen appears the moment you cut an existing cable or duct route in the geographical screen.
The existing object is divided into two new objects on the location of the cable cut. At the location of the cable cut a new object is placed (accesspoint, enclosure, or cable in storage).
In the screen you indicate to which cable work the change is related , the date on which the change factually took place, and which installation company performed the change. Standard you will find here the data you used the last time.
The screen displays the objects found in the vicinity of the point clicked. Often, just one object will be found. Should more objects be found you may select the correct objects by clicking them. In this way you may cut several duct routes or cables at once.
Depending on the sort of object used for cutting, you need to enter the data of it.
You enter the data for a cable in storage by clicking the correct cable. The cable in storage will thus receive the name of the selected cable.
Not all cables and duct routes may be cut. The table below shows what is possible
Cable, not in a duct |
May be cut by placing an enclosure in a nearby accesspoint. |
Cable, in a duct |
May be cut by placing an accesspoint, an enclosure in an existing accesspoint, a cable in storage in an existing accesspoint, |
Duct, without cable. |
May be cut by placing an accesspoint. |
If you wish to place an enclosure in an accesspoint, already containing a cable in storage, you may use the cutting function. For this, you use the enclosure to cut the cable. The cable in storage will be selected for removal and the enclosure will be selected for creation.
If you wish to cut a cable on an existing enclosure and it shows that there is already an enclosure near the cut, you will be asked whether you want to perform the cut on the existing enclosure or whether you wish to place a new enclosure.
If you wish to cut a duct route on an existing accesspoint and it shows that there is already an accesspoint near the cut, you will be asked whether you want to perform the cut on the existing accesspoint or whether you wish to place a new accesspoint.
If you wish to cut a duct route or a cable and you receive the message that the locations cannot be found, you need to check the starting point and endpoint of the duct route or cable.
You do this by pointing out the duct route or cable and - from the list of objects - clicking with the right mouse-button on the duct route or cable, and then choosing Change. You may now enter the correct starting point and endpoint for this duct route or cable.
