Maintain routes

With this function you may create, change and remove routes. By drawing a route region in the geography, an Excel report can be exported from the Maintain route screen. The selected type of locations, based on a Cocon layer, will be listed in the export.

 

Create:

You may create a new route in the "Change geography" screen by using the clip0018 button. Activate the extra layer Routes first from the tab Show in the ribbon. The route can be drawn by selecting the starting point and clicking around the the area you wish the enclose. By double clicking the location will connect with the startlocation and the route is finalized as an area.

After drawing the route the 'Maintain Route' screen will open.
 

Edit / Remove

The Maintain Route screen can be opened from the Register menu. If you wish to remove a route and the route is still linked to a duct route, you will be asked whether you want to unlink those duct routes from the route. If there is only one route present, it cannot be removed.

 

The following actions may be taken in this screen:

Through the yellow input field you may search for a (part of the) name or value.

Navigate through the found routes

Name

Full route name.

Short name

Short route name. (max 10 characters)

Owner

Route can be entered as Core, Access, unknown or address area.

Status

Route can be planned, in use or reserved for removal.

Determine unique value for this route's short name.

Save changes.

Close screen without saving changes.

Delete route.

Export addresses to Excel.

Export addresses to Excel by using a filter.

 

 

Overlapping routes / combining routes
When a same type of route crosses an existing route while entering a new route, Cocon will show three options.

Don't combine routes

With this option, both the existing and the new route will keep their own contours.

Overlapping areas will be removed
from existing routes

In this case, the original contours of the new route will remain. The contours of the existing route will change.

Similar names
When a new route is drawn and the name for this route is similar to an existing route Cocon will notice this and will ask if these two routes need to be combined. When accepting, Cocon will extend the existing route with the new route.

Using different type of routes
If you have entered a contract area and cross this area with an address area. The routes will not be combined or changed. The function only applies to similar type of routes.

Available ISP / Partner

When the Owner is set to contractarea, a new part of the screen will open where it is possible to select available ISP(s) / Partner(s) can be linked.

 
Exporting data

Choose ‘address area’ in the ‘owner’ field to create an Excel or CSV file with the selected addresses.

 

File name        

Location where file will be saved to..                    

Layer name

File where addresses will be filtered from.

Field name

Type of file that needs to be used.
