Meaning of status

Status changes:

When an object is subject to a change, it's status will change accordingly. We refer to this situation as a status change.

An example of a status change would be a planned accesspoint (not constructed) that has been build (constructed).

The status of the object now must be confirmed in Cocon by Confirm Project. This changes the status of the object from status 0 (planned), to status 1 (in use).

Some objects can be maintained manualy. See General for the most common status changes.

Status:

Every object in Cocon has a status. The status tells the user in what face the object is in, and/if what limitations, or restrictions apply to the object.

The status of the object determines which actions are allowed on the object. The status of the cable work is an exception. The status applies to the maintained cable work fibers.

Which status changes are allowed per user group may be different for each organization. These rights may be set in Autorization status change by the administrator.

Detailstatus:

On several objects it is possible to set a detailstatus. In the basetables > Maintain business table > Detail status, detail status may be edited, added or removed.
Which detailstatus is available and what is means may be different for each organization. These rights may be set in Autorization detailed status change by administrator.

Objects with associated statuses:

Cable work

Cable work status

To apply a cable work status, first fibers need to be involved in the cable work. See Maintain cable work fibers.

4

No mutations

Status changes on fibers in the cable work are not allowed, with the exception of the projectowner and contacts

5

Mutations will be reported, in use is blocked

Status changes on fibers in the cable work are reported to the projectowner and contacts by e-mail.
Fibers may not be set to status 1 (in use).

6

Mutations will be reported

Status changes on fibers in the cable work are reported to the projectowner and contacts by e-mail. All status changes are allowed.

7

Mutations allowed

All mutations on fibers are allowed. No reports will be send.

Progress status

The progess status is used when contractors resubmit a project, after implementation.

-

no details

imported

The project has been offered by the contractor.

importfase

The project may not be substituted by the contractor, yet it is not fully approved. The projectowner is performing the final checkup.

Label

The objectlabels can be reserved in advance, for use in the cable work. See Label request.

0

Issued

The label has been issued to a cable work. These labels may only be used by objects within the assigned cable work.

1

In use

The label is in use within the cable work.

2

Canceled

The label is no longer in use, and/or the reservation has been dropped.

General

The following objects require one of the following statuses:

Building, Frame, Termination unit, Accesspoint, Enclosure, Drilling, Duct/Subduct, Ductlink, Cable, Fiber, Splice, Patch, Connection/Section name

0

Planned

The intended course of action is to construct the object in the (near) future.

1

In use

The object is constructed.

2

Reserved for removal

The object will be deconstructed in the (near) future.

Fiber

0

Planned

The intended course of action is to construct the fiber in the (near) future.

1

In use

The fiber is constructed.

2

Reserved for removal

The fiber will be deconstructed in the (near) future.

3

Defect

The fiber is constructed, but not usable.

4

To much attenuation

The fiber is constructed, but attenuation values are out of the set bounds.

5

Failure

The fiber is constructed, but does not function as expected.

6

Crossing

The fibers are crossed by a repairsplice, (due to a defect). There must be two status 6 fibers within the cable.

7

Temporary fixed

The fiber is constructed and has a defect, but has been repaired. Replacing the cable/fiber is taken in consideration.

8

Fiction (not existing)

When a cable belongs to an external owner the fibers not available for use can be set to Fiction, in onder to block them for usage. In the capacity of the cable the fictive fibers are subtracted. Fiber routing will not use the fictive fibers for automatic routing.

Example:

A cable 24F from the external owner, has 12 fibers that may be used. The other 12F that cannot be used will be set to status 8, Fiction. Therefor they cannot be used and will not be used to determine cable capacity.

Connection

0

Planned

The intended course of action is to complete the connection in the (near) future.

1

In use

The connection is completed, both start- and end location have been terminated.

2

Reserved for removal

The connection is completed, but will be deconstructed in the (near) future.

3

Free connection

The connection is released.  The field Section name is cleared of the complete connection.

6

Spare fiber

The fiber is constructed, but reserved for a customer or adres. The connection is currently not used.

7

Bid reservation

If prospects are maintained in Cocon, a bid reservation may be placed on a connection, as a section name. There is no section name presented, but the fiber is reserved in a similar way for the prospect.

8

Order reservation

When a prospect confirmed the order and the bid is open for payment, but there is no section name yet a Order reservation may be placed on the connection. This is a follow-up on the bid reservation.
