Insert Rass splices

With this function the data of a Rass splice may be changed. This function may be called up from both the Register menu and the Reports menu (Termination - Splice shelf unit - Maintain Rass splice).

 

The following actions may be taken from this screen:

Through the yellow input field you may search for a (part of the) location name / frame name/ termination unit number

Search for the selected item. You may enter a combination of location name, frame name, and patch panel number.

Browse through the splice shelves that comply with the search item you entered.

 

clip0501

Creates the Rass splice file for printing. The Rass splice file is not created again in the directory with Rass splices.
But the file is created is a temporary directory after which it is displayed in Excel and may be printed.

Creates the Rass splice file, future, for printing.

clip0503

A report of all changes is displayed that occurred on the Rass splices on this frame.

View the connection of the first fiber from the selected cable (fiber series). The Connection report screen is displayed.
Depending on the splice status, either the connection report - present, or the connection report - future is displayed.

By clicking here a cross is placed in the geography on a certain distance from the selected position. You will be asked for a distance in meters, after which the connection is followed from the selected position until the distance entered has been reached. This way, you can perform a quick search for a malfunction, for instance.

Displays a list of files linked to the this splice shelf unit.

Displays the usage report of the selected cable.

With the help of these functions the following actions may be performed

By entering fiber series in the top part of screen 2 and then pressing this button, a new splice is created.
For this purpose the Confirm splices screen appears, again displaying the data of the splice to be created, before the splice is actually saved.

Confirm a Rass splice selected for removal. This button is only visible at the for removal selected splices.

Confirm a selected Rass splice. This button is only visible at selected Rass splices.

Use this button to remove the currently selected Rass splice. This button is only visible at Rass splices in use.

Cancel selected Rass splice. This button is only visible at selected Rass splices.

Reserve Rass splice for removal This button is only visible at Rass splices in use.

Cancel the reservation for removal. This button is only visible at selected Rass splices.

clip0216

Use this button to change the data of a Rass splice in order to split Rass splices or to remove existing Rass splices and entering those again.

The Rass splice shelf data are turned around, i.e. the data of the selected Rass splice to the left of the screen are replaced to the right and vice versa.

Use this button to split the current Rass splice series. The Split splice screen is displayed.

 

Other:

Refresh the data in the screen. Any changes made are cancelled.

Go to the "Enter/change splice shelf unit" screen
